Pink Hair Raise £3000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

The Pink Hair team are delighted to announce that we have raised an impressive £3000 for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Cancer Charity.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital is the principal treatment centre for children with cancer in the West Midlands and with many of us knowing children who have been treated there, it seemed like the ideal candidate for our 2014 charitable cause.

The fundraising began back on 18^th August 2014 when Director Linda Allan completed a one-mile sponsored swim for which Pink Hair and Advanced Appearance clients donated a grand sum of £1700.

A further £1300 was raised thanks to the generosity of all those who attended our Hair and Fashion show on 11^th September, Sponsored by LSB Beauty & Skincare and Pink Hair.  Hollyfields Centre Club in Erdington kindly donated the venue free of charge and volunteer models showcased a themed hair and clothing range, provided by Wardrobe in Tamworth.

Guests enjoyed a canapé and drinks reception upon arrival, before watching the fashion show and concluding the evening with a disco. 

Hair styling for the evening was provided by Pink Hair ladies Kelly and Linda together with Sarah and Nina from Nina’s Hair.  Ganga Make-up provided airbrush make up and the evening was brilliantly compered by our very own Gill and Sam.  Twenty local businesses also showed their support by providing market stalls to promote their products to guests.

What made the evening even more poignant and summarised the reason we were all there was the appearance of Justine from Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, who made a speech to thank everyone for their hard work in and emphasised the importance of charitable donations to continue and grow the great work the charity does to make things better for poorly children.  Chelsea and Paige Taylor then went on to make a moving speech regarding their experiences as Paige had been treated at the hospital when she had cancer.  The speech talked about the effects of cancer on the whole family, and the importance of fundraising for the centre as it really can make a difference to patients.  Both Chelsea and Paige thanked Linda for her hard work in helping to support the charity.

Join The Pink Ladies At Their Fundraising Charity Evening – Thursday 11 September 2014

On Thursday 11 September 2014 we will be running a ladies charity evening in conjunction with LSB Beauty and Nina’s Hair in order to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.  We’re proud to say that 100% of all the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Cancer Centre Appeal (1074850) at the Children’s Hospital, which offers a valuable service to families all across the UK. 

The evening is open to all, and will comprise of the following events:

7.00 pm – Champagne and canapés.  Guests can enjoy browsing our market place and can purchase hair and beauty products as well as viewing fashion ranges.

8.30 pm – Hair and fashion show.

9.20 pm – Charity raffle draw, with over 20 prizes to be won.

9.30 pm – 11.00pm – Disco.

Pink Hair Solutions’ Success With New Post-Chemotherapy Shampoos

Here at Pink Hair Solutions, we are pleased to announce that we are having fantastic results with the La Biosthetique range of scalp shampoos. Ladies are coming to us after they have finished their chemotherapy asking if we can help to prepare their scalp ready for their hair to regrow. We advise them to use one of the range from La Bio, which helps promote a healthy scalp and also improves the condition of the hair that is coming through. The results start to show in just weeks or a few months, and our ladies have found that the more consistent the application, the better result.

These post-chemotherapy shampoos and applications are prescriptive to the clients own needs, with products available for the following hair types and conditions:

Here at Pink Hair Solutions we are pleased to announce that we are opening our doors to the public on 21^st and 22^nd June 2014 so that we can showcase the services we offer to women who may be experiencing hair loss.  Our open days will take place at our hair replacement centre at 78 Hawthorn Road in Birmingham, and we welcome visitors from all over Birmingham and the surrounding areas. 

If you don’t already know what we do, then let us tell you a little about what we can offer our clients.  We were set up back in 2007 in order to offer a service to women who were experiencing hair loss as a result of undergoing chemotherapy.  Many women felt that by losing their hair, they were losing a part of their femininity.  We wanted to help these women by providing them with effective and natural looking hair replacement options to allow them to regain some of their self-confidence whilst they were undergoing an emotional and often traumatic experience.

Of course, hair loss in women isn’t only caused by chemotherapy.  There are lots of women within the UK who are losing their hair perhaps as a result of a hormone deficiency, stress, alopecia or trichotillomania.  Whatever the reason for the hair loss, we aim to provide a natural looking solution for the individual so that she can start to feel better about herself and her self-esteem can increase.

Open Day At Pink Hair Solutions Leaves St Luke’s Ladies Smiling

On Thursday 30^th Jan we invited some ladies from the St Luke's Breast Cancer Care group to make the journey across Birmingham to enjoy our specialist hair replacement maintenance and mastectomy lingerie services.

The four ladies were all delighted to have their wigs cut and undertake a bra fitting to ensure they have lingerie that provides support and comfort (and of course looks great!).

After the serious business of bras and haircuts had taken place we all enjoyed a lovely lunch together and our guests went home happy to have had a lovely and productive afternoon.

To help promote hair growth, one of our ladies Libby also purchased some scalp shampoo from our collection of specialist cosmetic products designed to aid hair loss and help keep hair replacement pieces in fantastic condition.
